We are asked often if we can increase organic rankings for a business in Google. The answer is yes, but there isn’t a magic pill. If we had a way in which we could magically and quickly increase your relevance in search results, we would be gazillionaire’s and not working. Seriously though, if we can increase your rankings, how if it accomplished?
First, Content
First and foremost with any website, you need to have great content that is focused. This process takes time as your current content needs to be reviewed and recorded so that you know where you are starting. Sometimes content can be slightly adjusted or updated and the results can be huge. Other times writing new content may be the best way to achieve better rankings. Creating new pages for specific topics, services or products might be needed. If you are running pay per click advertising, you’ll want to make sure you landing page and flow is precise and quick for you visitor to increase conversions from clicks to leads.
You can do this yourself, just like you can rebuild your own engine in your car. It takes years to learn how websites work, how search engines react to changes, and so forth. In most cases it makes sense to hire a company that can work with you in building a better website with good content to increase your organic rankings.
Then, Website Set Up
Once you have great content on your site, you’ll need to help the search engines read your website so that it understands your focus and how it should index your site with other similar sites. This is called website schema. (If you want to learn more about schema, read this article we wrote.) When you website is updated, and properly formatted, the search engines will index your website. The more often you add more content, and update existing content, the more often your site is indexed.

There is no specific time that can be promised. We have seen rankings change in just a couple days and then again some a couple of months. Remember ranking for long-tail keywords is much easier than a keyword that has lots of websites trying to rank for as well. Not sure what keywords you want to rank for or if you should focus on long-tail keywords or not? Leave it to the pros. Give us a call to set up a free review of your website, and current advertising. We will give you some suggestions and let you know if we can help your business claim more of the market you are trying to reach.
